Christmas greetings to all! I do love this group but year end and Christmas always brings it’s surprises for me and I know that I am not alone after reading all of you messages! I guess better put is chaos reigns supreme. But I have enjoyed the stories and photos and I look forward to doing some pictures when the wife is away in Pittsburgh after the first of the year, so more to come hopefully.
The sister of Sister Mary my 101 year old friend passed just before Thanksgiving and that makes her the last of her brothers and sisters. The good news is that we were able to take her to the funeral. She is doing well, she had asymptomatic covid a few month ago and I thought she would loose her mind when she was forced to stay in her room for 10 days. So between shuttling her around and helping her out and playing part time psychologist to her and settling matters for her late friend Sister Josephine, that cuts into my time for sure. But it is an honor to do so. I hope I have someone for me and my wife when our time comes since we have no children. These women gave their lives to the church, there is no doubt of that.
I did manage to get my Christmas decorations up as shown below, I am a Christmas kid! As I write I have my Christmas library playing through the house. 3 days of continuous music, classic, classical and some shall we say raunchy. That is a story for a different writing! The It’s a Wonderful Life village is in my office, I forgot to put the movie on when I snapped the picture. I did put the popo in front of Martini’s bar! 😉 My leg lamp has become a staple in the neighborhood along with my flagpole Christmas tree. My two photo bombers look like they are posing next to the leg well they stare at me. These days when I put up the flagpole tree, I help getting up, but many look forward to it each year as do I. That is an electric wire that it the star taps on in the wind behind it! The little snowman is “older than Matt” so it is more that 57 soon to be 58. And last but not least the scotch tape angel that was my mothers. It always went in the center of the tree, but now is up front and center since she passed 26 years ago.
We will be hosting Christmas for our families this year, which I truly enjoy, it is always a goal of mine to not start a car on Christmas! I am making a Braciole or Italian flank steak logs. Recipe to follow at a later date, but notice how the word starts with bra and that make everything better! I am also making a goulash with bread dumplings, a peppermint fluff and the obligatory peanut butter blossoms and old fashions will be the drink of the day. Although, I will start the car to go to mass with Sister Mary on Christmas day.
I cannot say it enough with what I have read as of late that EVERYONE is healthy and safe!
Toni Lynn a belated happy anniversary and I love the stories of what your wife got you for Christmas and your nails to boot.
Carla, you had mentioned about keeping up, and it is very tough for me and yes you are right I do need to watch what happens here at WWB as well as watching what is happening to members since the majority of people came over from MWB in December so the software is doing it’s maintenance as it should, deleting profiles that have not posted in 365 days, so I have some complainers, but no big surprise there. I like it since at least that does the work for me in some aspects. Enough about the site! If you are a member here, I certainly hope that you enjoy it!
I believe that I have missed some other significant events in your lives and my apologies as I have not acknowledged them!
Well, we will be off to see my wife’s sister sing in Frankfort (Illinois) shortly. I wanted to be sure that I touched base with all and to truly wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Peace and Love be with you all!
